Closure of educational institutions extended till August 31

The government has extended the ongoing closure of all educational institutions till August 31. The decision is also applicable for Ebtedayee and Qawmi madrasas across the country, according to a press release of the education ministry. Based on recommendations by the National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19, the government has extended the closure considering the safety of students, teachers, employees and guardians amid growing Covid-19 infections and the countrywide lockdown.

BRAC 29 July 2021 afternoon unveiled the theme song for its “Dakchhe Abar Desh” initiative calling all to stand by the people who have lost their earnings amid the new waves of the pandemic. The theme song titled “Aloy Aloy Dakchhe Abar Desh” is written, composed and sung by Sharmin Sultana Sumi, lead vocalist of renowned band Chirkutt.
