Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated in Bangladesh

Rezaur Rahman Rizvi The holy Eid-ul-Adha was celebrated across the country on July 21 with due religious solemnity. The main Eid Jamaat was held at Baitul Mukarram Mosque in Dhaka on this day. Besides, Eid prayers have been held locally in every mosque and many Eidgah of the country. At the end of the prayers, prayers are offered in the court of Allah for the welfare of the country and the nation and for protection from the outbreak of Corona virus. Thousands of Extreme poor families receive food support and health hygiene products from Dhaka Ahsania Mission

In this Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown situation, the thousands of extreme poor families of Savar and Satkhira Municipality received food support and health hygiene products from Health and Nutrition Voucher Scheme for Poor, Extreme Poor and Socially excluded people (PEPSEP) project implemented by Health Sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM). The Relief Distribution Ceremonies were organized on 14 and 15 July at Satkhira Municipality and from 16 to 18 July at Savar Municipality with the support of European Union (EU). Out of 1000 families, 700 are from Satkhira Municipality and 300 are from Savar Municipality. Grameenphone and BRAC to stand beside over 83,000 families gravely affected due to COVID

The ongoing COVID19 catastrophe and its prolonged lockdown periods continue to take a toll on the middle and lower-income people in Bangladesh. As a result, countless people are now struggling to earn even the minimum livelihood to survive. In continuation of last year's response, Brac once again pledged to stand beside the deeply affected families, and Grameenphone, as a first respondent, joined the cause "Dakche Abar Desh" to aid more than 33,000 families. Four journalists received journalist fellowship award from Dhaka Ahsania Mission

Four journalists have received fellowship award in anti-tobacco journalism in Bangladesh from Dhaka Ahsania Mission. They are Masud Rumee (Kaler Kantho), Dolar Mehedi (71 TV), Jannatul Ferdous Panna (Amader Natun Somoy) and Md. Akhtaruzzaman (Amader Orthoniti). The names of four journalists who received fellowship awards from Dhaka Ahsania Mission were announced through a virtual event on July 7.
