A virtual orientation program for summer 2021 semester has been held at Eastern University (EU) on 15th July 2021. Additional Secretary of Secondary & Higher Education Division and the Syndicate Member of the Eastern University Md Hasanul Islam NDC graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Vice Chancellor of Eastern University & renowned Educationist Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain chaired the program. The Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT) of Eastern University Md Ismail Jabihullah and Member of board of trustees of Eastern University Mohammed Ali Azzam was the Guest of Honor.
Md Hasanul Islam welcomed the news students. He said, Technology is leading the current world. And you will be the main leader of this world. He advised the students to use their time and knowledge properly for winning the race.
Md Ismail Jabihullah highlighted the necessity of quality education for the students. He mentioned a quotation collected from a university of South Africa- ‘destroying any nation does not require the use of Atomic Bombs or the use of long range Missile. It only requires lowering the quality of Education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students.’
In his speech Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain said to the students that private university is giving you the opportunity to choose your subject according to your expectation, which may not be possible at public university. This is one of the main difference of Public and Private University. So you please focus on your study. A successful alumni of Eastern University Mr Yazzum Hossen Sujon was also delivered his speech.
All the newly admitted students participated the program. The event was attended by Professor Dr Md Abbas Ali Khan- Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Dr Md Anwar Zahid, Dean of Law Faculty, Professor Dr Md Mahfuzur Rahman and the Dean of the faculty of Engineering & Technology. Chairperson of English department Mohammad Moniruzzaman Akhand also attended. All the guests advised the students to study attentively. Thus they can be rewarded after completion of the study.
Registrar Abul Basher khan delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The orientation program was hosted by Nazla Fatmi, Assistant Professor of English dept. of EU and was telecasted from the Zoom platform.
