The 103rd birth anniversary of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day followed by “Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh” Book Launching Event was held at UIU on March 18, 2023 (Saturday) at 3:00 P.M. at UIU Campus, United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka-1212.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Alamgir, Honorable Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) was present as the Chief Guest in the program. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, VC, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) and Prof. Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, VC, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) were present as the Special Guests. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Musa, Dean, School of Business and Economics, UIU was present as the Key Speaker. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (In-charge) of UIU. Prof Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia presided over the ceremony. The welcome speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. A. K. M. Muzahidul Islam, Professor, Dept. of CSE, UIU and Lead Editor of the book ‘Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh’.
The work on the book “Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh” started with the International Conference on Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh 2021 (ICBBDB). The conference was held virtually at UIU on 30 December 2021. The auspicious ceremony started with the recitation from Holy Quaran and Dua for our beloved Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family. In the book “Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh”, various research papers have been presented on the building of Smart Bangladesh on the thoughts and spirit of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on science and technology. The book is published by international publisher ‘Springer’.
The speakers addressed that the research and technological development can ensure sustainable development of a nation. To achieve Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla and to transform Digital Bangladesh to Innovative Bangladesh it is important that country like Bangladesh prioritizes technology innovation, and focuses research on the four pillars of Digital Bangladesh and various development golas set by Bangabandhu to achieve Sonar Bangla.
Faculty members, officials, academicians, journalists, government officials, researchers and other distinguished guests from various organizations were present in the program.
