The inauguration of the International Conference on Bangabandhu and Digital Bangladesh (ICBBDB 2021), took place virtually today at 10:00 A.M due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference is organized by the Department of CSE of United International University (UIU), Bangladesh. The conference is Technically Co-sponsored by Springer and all accepted papers will be published in the proceedings of ICBBDB 2021 in CCIS by Springer.
Mr. N M Zeaul Alam, Honorable Senior Secretary, Information and Communication Technology Division, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest while Dr. Khandoker Azizul Islam, Honorable Additional Secretary (ICT Promotion & Research Wing), Information and Communication Technology Division, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Special Guest. The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of UIU. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Dr. A.K.M. Muzahidul Islam, General Chair of ICBBDB 2021 and Professor, Dept. of CSE, UIU and Technical details were presented by Dr. Shahriar Rahman, TPC Chair for ICBBDB 2021 and Assoc. Professor, Dept. of CSE, UIU.
The speakers addressed that the research and technological development can ensure sustainable development of a nation. To achieve Bangabandhus Sonar Bangla and to transform Digital Bangladesh to Innovative Bangladesh it is important that country like Bangladesh prioritizes technology innovation, and focus research on the four pillars of Digital Bangladesh and varoous development golas set by Bangabandhu to achieve Sonar Bangla.
ICBBDB 2021 is technically supported by Springer and financially supported by ICT Division, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. It has received 90 Research Papers from 05 countries e. g. Bangladesh, China, France, India, and China. Other than technical sessions, there are also 02 keynote talks and 02 handson workshops on NLP and Cybersecurity. The conference continues with 05 technical sessions on scientific research of various topics. The papers have been submitted through Springers OCS System. Finally, only 18 Papers have been selected for regular oral presentation at the conference. The rate of acceptance is only 20% and from 11 universities. All submissions went through a careful anonymous review process (3 or more reviews per submission).
Faculty members, officials, academicians, researchers and other distinguished guests from various universities and institutions in the home and abroad were present in the inaugural ceremony.
