Popular instant communication platform imo has recently been accoladed with Partner Recognition Award by Google in social impact category for its relentless efforts to ensure better lives for the community.
Google’s APAC (#AppSummit2023) event was held on 19 December 2023. The names of the winners were announced at the event. imo has been awarded for working continuously for bringing in positive impacts in the lives of the communities at this event.
Apart from empowering its users with the ability to connect over miles and boundaries, imo has been working for community betterment. As for example, initiatives such as 333 Helpline channel, imo hero story short-film, support for underprivileged children’s education and flood relief have impacted Bangladesh’s society and its people in undeniable ways. imo donated educational stationery to JAAGO Foundation, supporting 1200 underprivileged children for the whole year, in a rare gesture to ensure access to quality education for all. These social initiatives have positively touched the lives of Bangladeshi people and migrants living outside the country.
