Dr. Nizam Ahmed Selected the new Vice-Chairman of GAVI CSO Steering Committee

Veteran public health specialist Dr. Nizam Ahmed has been elected Vice-Chairman of the CSO Consistency Steering Committee of the Global Alliance for Vaccine Initiative (GAVI), a global alliance of vaccine management. He is the Executive director of Shastho Shurokkha Foundation and national telehealth service provider Shastho Batayon.
He was elected Vice-Chairman at the GAVI CSO Board Meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya on 26/5/2022. International organization the vaccine alliance ‘GAVI’ coordinates and contributes vaccines for government, non-governmental organizations and CSOs and developing countries.
In continuation of this new responsibility, Dr. Nizam as the Vice Chairman of GAVI CSO will work to improve public health and immunization management worldwide, including in Bangladesh and South Asia. A total of 22 experts from around the world (GAVI) serve as members of the CSO Consistency Steering Committee.
Dr. Nizam said, ‘International Circle Bangladesh is honored to have elected me Vice Chairman of the CSO Steering Committee of the Global Alliance for Vaccine Initiative (GAVI). Through this there will be an opportunity to work on a large scale in the protection of public health. I hope that by acting as the Vice Chairman, I will try to coordinate between the government and the private sector in the development of public health in Bangladesh and in obtaining a fair vaccine.’
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Nizam Uddin Ahmed has been working in the national and international arena for more than 30 years by working in international donors for the development of public health. She has been responsible for policy immunization at the national and international levels on child immunization programs, child and maternal mortality prevention, HIV / AIDS prevention, adolescent health and nutrition, telehealth services and coordination between government and non-government organizations and CSOs at the field level.
