Safety Network Bangladesh proudly organized the “Heroes of ’24 Grand Iftar and delivering Eid gift hampers on Independence Day to martyred families and injured survivors,” followed by a momentous communal gathering held to honor the indomitable spirit of the July-August 2024 uprising heroes. This landmark event, hosted at Hotel Lakeshore in Gulshan yesterday, brought together foreign diplomats, prominent socio-cultural figures, and security professionals to pay tribute to the sacrifices made for freedom and justice, while extending tangible support to affected families.

The evening was graced by Chief Guest Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain, Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping, whose presence underscored the event’s national significance. Distinguished special guests included high-ranking diplomats from Pakistan, Sweden, Palestine, Turkey, Comoros Islands, and Australia, reflecting the global resonance of this humanitarian initiative. Notable attendees also featured Md. Shahidul Islam, Founder of Drik Gallery, Hafez Muaz Mahmud, Winner of the International Hifzul Quran Competition alongside business leaders and representatives of Bangladesh’s socio-cultural elite.

Founder S.M. Tasdid Swad, CISSP®, emphasized Safety Network Bangladesh’s unwavering commitment to societal contributions through compelling visual presentation spotlighting the initiative’s profound impact. The event also inaugurated “Next Gen Voices,” a new youth lead associate body recognizing young changemakers who supported uprising victims, amplifying their role in shaping a brighter future.

A key highlight was a poignant visual storytelling display, featuring rare photographs and newspaper clippings from the uprising—a time when the nation faced complete shutdowns and media blackouts. The emotional peak came with a Guard of Honor, masterfully executed by expert security professionals from Elite Force, Bangladesh’s premier private security agency, paying tribute to the valiant leaders of the movement. In a defining moment, Elite Force delivered immediate empowerment to affected families. Sujan, a heroic figure immortalized for his salute during the uprising, received a motorcycle key from Elite Force Director Mr. Sharif Shaham Al Waffin, symbolizing self-reliance and hope. Additionally, family members of martyred individuals secured immediate job placements, while heroic survivors received livelihood support. In commemoration of Independence Day, decorated Eid gift hampers were delivered to martyred families and injured survivors throughout the day and night, with distributions continuing until Eid-ul-Fitr.
