UIU won the Smarter Europe Award 2022

A research Project “SirriS- Smart Solar Irrigation System” developed by the Centre for Energy Research of United International University won the Smarter Europe Award 2022 on the 10th May 2022 at Munich, Germany at the start of the InterSolar Europe Conference and Exhibition. ULAB signs MoU with University of Calcutta

Professor Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee, Vice-Chancellor, University of Calcutta, and Professor Imran Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, signed an MOU on 21 April 2022 in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Calcutta. The MoU will pave the way for joint research, exchange of academic materials and publications, and student and faculty exchange.

ULAB Staff and U.S. Embassy Conduct Joint First Aid Training

Since December, The Civil-Military Support Element from the Embassy of the United States of America in Bangladesh has been leading first aid training for staff at ULAB. Most recently, on April 21, 2022, ULAB staff learned several life-saving techniques including controlling bleeding, treating burns and snake bites, providing CPR, and much more. As a result of this training, ULAB will have a pool of first aid trainers and responders available on campus at all times to assist and provide lifesaving care during medical emergencies. Once the pool of trainers is ready, they will take the lead in training the greater ULAB community, ensuring a more effective response to any medical emergency.

Prerona Foundation and BFEC collaborate to launch Korean language course for migrant workers

In FY 2020-2021, Bangladeshi migrant workers had sent home USD 24.77 billion in remittances, a record by its own standard, even in the face of a debilitating global economy during the ongoing pandemic. Bangladesh currently ranks as the sixth-largest source of international migrant workers globally, according to World Migration Report 2022. Bangladesh Bank reports, that the remittance inflow from about 10 million expatriates accounts for nearly 12 per cent of the country’s GDP.
