Birth and death registration is essential to guarantee citizen rights such as education, healthcare, inheritance, and voting rights. Registration data is also crucial for national planning, good governance, and budget preparation. Currently, the birth and death registration rates in Bangladesh stand at 50% and 47%, respectively which is significantly lower than the global and regional averages.
