Platforms Gallery is pleased to present Atmospheres of Time, a solo exhibition by Avi Shankar Ain, featuring 30 new paintings that explore the poetic transitions of season, memory, and the passage of time.
Working within an abstract expressionist language, Avi Shankar Ain traces the subtle shifts of seasons as they move through both body and landscape. Rather than depicting change, the works inhabit it — capturing the slow warmth of lengthening light, the quiet density of cold settling into form, and the delicate tension between softness and severity as climates turn. Each composition exists within a continuum of day and night, where color, texture, and gesture record fleeting moments already slipping into memory. Across the exhibition, water, sky, and horizon dissolve into fluid sensorial terrains. Though figures remain absent, the paintings are deeply human, holding emotional temperature, stillness, turbulence, and calm. The works resist fixed narratives, inviting viewers to dwell in ambiguity and recognize the cyclical nature of time and the ever-changing presence of light, air, warmth, and cold.
Rayana Hossain, Founder of Platforms Gallery, shares, `Atmospheres of Time reflects a deeply contemplative practice. Avi’s paintings hold the fragility of transition and the persistence of memory, encouraging a slower, immersive mode of seeing. These works invite viewers to pause, to feel, and to experience time as atmosphere rather than chronology.’
Sultan M Mineuddin says: `This exhibition marks an important moment for Platforms Gallery as we continue to present contemporary Bangladeshi artists whose practices engage with global visual language while remaining deeply personal and rooted in lived experience.’
Monirul Islam adds `Avi’s work captures an emotional landscape that resonates beyond geography. His paintings allow viewers to sense time through color and gesture, creating a powerful dialogue between memory, environment, and abstraction.’
Atmospheres of Time presents 30 artworks that collectively form a meditative journey through seasonal transition, emotional rhythm, and the quiet poetry of change.
Exhibition starts from May 16 and it will end at June 07. From 11:00 AM – to 8:00 PM, art lover will visited the exhibition.
