Nasima Akhtar, a student in the fifth grade, expressed her excitement at getting a new dress and said, “Earlier, I didn’t want to come to school because I didn’t have good clothes. Now I will get a new dress and come to school regularly.”
Shakila Akhter Mimi, president and organizer of Rotary club Dhaka Mahanagar, said, “Rotary activities are going on in 118 countries all over the world. We have been running our activities since 2012. There are about 500 Rotary Clubs in Bangladesh. We provide all kinds of support to the four schools of Dhaka including Banani, Mirpur, Manikganj, and Narsingdi.
Shrabani Sarkar said, underprivileged family students study free in this school. Their parents couldn’t afford school uniforms for their children, therefore, everyone came to school by wearing different clothes with different colors. It doesn’t look good and that’s why we have arranged to provide the same color school dress to these free schools.
Rotary club Dhaka Mahanagar and Interact Club of Dhaka Mahanagar supported this event.
