Youth-favorite brand realme has become the fastest-growing 5G Android smartphone brand in the global market, according to the latest data released by market analyst firm Counterpoint Research.
realme was able to out-grow the market in India, China and Europe with its 5G smartphone sales growing 831% YoY compared to the global growth rate of 121% in Q3. realme has also been ranked third in the emerging markets with its 5G share going up to 15.5 percent in Q2, 2021.
“realme with its strong multi-channel strategy and a wide 5G portfolio across price-bands helped it grow the fastest,” said Counterpoint’s Research Director, Tarun Pathak.
“Our goal is to help at least 100 million young people worldwide to enjoy the benefits brought by 5G technology with 5G-powered smartphones at the core. We will continue to bring more appealing 5G products to the market with leap-forward performance and trendsetting designs. Our first premium flagship GT 2 Pro, which features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G processor and world’s first bio-based eco-friendly polymer smartphone design with award-winning designer Naoto Fakasawa, is going to make its world debut soon”, said Sky Li, realme’s Founder and CEO.
As a popularizer of 5G, realme is also receiving huge response from users after launching 5G phones in the Bangladeshi market. realme has already released GT Master Edition and GT NEO 2 in the local market, both of which have created waves among smartphone users.
realme is developing a diverse portfolio of 5G products with an aim to offer 100 million 5G phones in the next three years to young users. Besides affordable 5G phones, realme will also bring more AIoT products to young consumers as realme has entered AIoT 2.0 development phase with its advanced ‘1+5+T’ strategy.
