
Karnaphuli Cruise Line has introduced a passenger launch service on the Bhola-Chittagong route, departing from Betua Launch Ghat in Char Fashion, Bhola. Two luxurious, air-conditioned ships—MV Baro Awlia and MV Karnaphuli Express—will operate on this route in response to long-standing passenger demand.
The MV Baro Aulia and MV Karnaphuli Express will depart from Betua at 8:00 AM, stopping at Mangalsikder Ghat in Lalmohan at 8:30 AM and Tajumuddin Ghat at 9:00 AM, before reaching Chittagong Sadar Ghat at approximately 5:00 PM. The return journey from Chittagong will also commence at 8:00 AM.
The first trip departed from Chittagong on Thursday, March 20, followed by a return trip from Betua on March 21. Moving forward, one ship will arrive and another will depart daily. Additionally, the vessels will facilitate passenger embarkation and disembarkation at Lalmohan, Tajumuddin, Monpura (Dhalchar), and Hatia Ghats.
On this matter, Karnaphuli Cruise Line Director Md. Shamsul Alam said, ‘We have taken the initiative to launch a passenger ferry service to ensure that travelers can commute safely, smoothly, and comfortably on this route. This initiative reflects both our social responsibility and business interests.
Karnaphuli Cruise Line has assured that this coastal passenger service will prioritize safety and comfort. Ahead of the launch, MV Baro Aulia’s Captain Md. Farid Hossain, Master Mojibur Rahman, and the survey team inspected Betua Ghat, Lalmohan Mangalsikder Ghat, and Tajumuddin Ghat on Tuesday, March 18 to ensure smooth operations.
