BKSP emerges champion in ‘BRAC Bank Women’s Development Cup Hockey 2025’

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) emerged champion in the ‘BRAC Bank Women’s Development Cup Hockey 2025’, defeating Kishoreganj 8-0 in the final at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.

Organized by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) with title sponsorship from BRAC Bank, the tournament featured 11 teams and 28 matches from March 11 to 22, 2025.

Kishoreganj forward Fardia Akter Ratri was adjudged Best Player in the tournament, while BKSP’s Arpita, captain of the national women’s team, secured the Top Scorer title with 30 goals.

The collaboration between BRAC Bank and Bangladesh Hockey Federation is aimed at at promoting women’s hockey in Bangladesh.

Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation, and Meheriar M. Hasan, Chairperson of BRAC Bank, distributed prizes among the winners at the closing ceremony. BHF General Secretary Lt Col (Retd.) Riazul Hasan and other dignitaries were also present.

Ten district-level teams, along with BKSP, participated in the tournament, that included Dinajpur, Jashore, Chattogram, Patuakhali, Rajshahi, Jhenaidah, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Cumilla, and Kishoreganj. These teams were divided into two groups for the competition. Matches took place at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium and the Bangladesh Air Force field in Kurmitola.

This initiative marks another milestone in BRAC Bank’s commitment to promoting sports and empowering women. By fostering a supportive environment, the bank actively contributes to the development of women’s sports and encourages future generations of female athletes to thrive.
