
Renowned author, researcher, and academic Dr. Bishwajit Ghosh, a recipient of the Bangla Academy Literary Award and the Ekushey Padak, has been honored with the “Rebellious Author Abdur Rauf Chowdhury Literary Award 2025.” The award was presented during the closing ceremony of the Abdur Rauf Chowdhury Memorial Festival, organized by the Harikel Sahitya Parishad recently at the Habiganj District Shilpakala Academy premises. The chief guest of the event, author Ahmad Bashir, handed over the literary award crest to Dr. Bishwajit Ghosh.
Expressing his feelings upon receiving the Abdur Rauf Chowdhury Literary Award 2025, Dr. Bishwajit Ghosh said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for bestowing this prestigious honor upon me. This is a great recognition for me.”
The event was presided over by Dr. Mukid Chowdhury, who remarked, “The participation of all of you has enriched the Abdur Rauf Chowdhury Memorial Festival. I extend my gratitude to everyone. From now on, we will organize such events regularly. In the future, with your collaboration, we aspire to successfully celebrate the centenary of the rebellious author Abdur Rauf Chowdhury.”
It is worth mentioning that prior to the closing ceremony, a three-part discussion and presentation session was held on three of Abdur Rauf Chowdhury’s books—Pordeshe Porobasi, Aniketan, and Notun Digonto.
The discussion and award-giving ceremony was presided over by playwright, researcher, and writer Dr. Mukid Chowdhury. Freedom fighter and publisher Osman Gani attended as the special guest. Honored guests included authors Moni Haider, folk culture researcher Professor Jahan Ara Khatun, Professor Md. Elias Bakht Chowdhury Jalal, Professor Md. Harun Mia, Apurba Sharma, acting editor of Dainik Jugbheri, associate professor Goutam Sarkar, researcher and writer Dr. Shafik Aftab, publisher Afzal Hossain, author Shams Said, environmental activist Tofazzal Sohel, and writer-researcher Faisal Ahmed.
The closing speech was delivered by Siddiqi Harun, member secretary of Harikel Sahitya Parishad, Habiganj.
