Guardian posts 34.3% growth in H1 2026 claim settlements

Guardian Life Insurance Limited has continued its strong claims settlement momentum, settling insurance claims worth Tk 334.09 crore during the first half (January–June) of 2026. The amount is 34.3 percent higher than the Tk 248.81 crore settled during the corresponding period last year, extending the company's upward trajectory in claim settlement. During the six-month period, Guardian disbursed a total of 131,593 claims across life, health, policy maturities and other claims. Of the total amount settled, Tk 175.24 crore was paid against 23,740 death claims, while Tk 140.21 crore was disbursed for 104,259 health insurance claims. National Heart Foundation of Bangladesh (NHFB) has welcomed the decision of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) to declare its headquarters as well as all divisional and district offices across the country as "Smoke and Tobacco-Free Areas." In a press release issued today (Saturday, 11 July 2026), NHFB said that through an office order issued on 2 July, the DNCRP, in accordance with the Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) (Amendment) Act, 2026 has prohibited smoking and the use of all tobacco products within the premises and compounds of its headquarters and all divisional and district offices.
