International Youth Day Run 2025 held in Dhaka to promote youth empowerment

The Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital came alive Friday morning as over 1000 enthusiastic runners took part in the 'International Youth Day Run 2025'. The event was organised by RHSTEP in collaboration with RHRN Bangladesh Coalition Partners. The event, held under the theme "Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future" and the slogan "Empowering Youth, Building Tomorrow", aimed to inspire young people to take active roles in building a better, more sustainable society. Participants, including 800 external runners and 200 from RHSTEP and its partner organisations, competed in the 7.5 km race. Finance and Science & Technology Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed has said that enhancing efficiency in asset management across State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and Autonomous Bodies (ABs), which together hold 80 percent of the government’s assets, could play a crucial role in reducing the government’s contingent liabilities, currently standing at Tk 6.5 lakh crore.
