
United International University (UIU) secured 1st place among private universities in Bangladesh in the Earth and Environmental Sciences category of the internationally recognized research evaluation platform “Nature Index Institutional Ranking 2026”.
This prestigious global ranking is based on high-quality research articles published in the world’s leading science and health journals. The current rankings are based on research outputs published during the 12-month period from Feb 01, 2025 to Jan 31, 2026. Nature Index is widely recognized as an independent and credible benchmark for measuring research excellence at the international level.
In this year’s ranking, UIU achieved 10th position overall among all research and educational institutions in Bangladesh in the Earth and Environmental Sciences category. UIU secured the 8th position among all universities and the 1st position among private universities in the country. This accomplishment marks another significant milestone in UIU’s continuous journey toward excellence in research, innovation, and world-class higher education.
Since its establishment, UIU has consistently prioritized research-oriented education, international collaboration, and innovative thinking. This recognition reflects the dedicated efforts of the researchers working in environmental and earth sciences, particularly within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Environment and Development Studies (EDS). UIU continues to play an important role in strengthening research infrastructure, expanding international partnerships, and increasing the quality and impact of scholarly publications.
