Expose Tobacco Industry’s Ill Tactics to Protect Public Health- Speakers at Journalists’ Workshops
Tobacco use claims 161,000 lives each year in Bangladesh. However, tobacco companies never take responsibility for such a huge loss of lives caused by its deadly products. On the other hand, these companies never stop resorting to a wide variety of ill tactics to hide its massive death toll and to expand its death trade. Only a vigilant mass media can play a vital role in exposing the true intentions of tobacco companies. Speakers said these during the Journalists' workshops at BMA Bhaban of the capital on 4-5 February 2025. A total of 51 journalists from print, television and online media houses participated in two workshops organized by research and advocacy organization PROGGA (Knowledge for Progress) and Anti-Tobacco Media Alliance (ATMA).
