Architects call for sustainable, human-centric design in Bangladesh’s textile industry
Architects have called for greater emphasis on sustainable, energy-efficient and worker-friendly design in Bangladesh’s textile and garment factories, saying industrial architecture should go beyond production capacity to ensure workers’ safety, comfort and well-being while improving the long-term performance of factory buildings.They made the remarks at a seminar titled “Architectural Trends in the Textile Industry” held today (Friday) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BCFEC) in Purbachal, Dhaka, as part of the ongoing 25th Textile Series of Exhibitions 2026.The seminar was organised by CEMS-Global and held in collaboration with ARCHICONNECT.Architect Dr Afroze Ahmed, Chairman and Co-founder of ARCHICONNECT, moderated the session.
