Renowned Indian singer Rupankar Bagchi, a beloved figure in Bengali music across India and Bangladesh, has just released a brand-new Bangladeshi song titled “Kemon Acho Tumi” (How Are You?), under the banner of Ajob Records. Despite his widespread popularity in Bangladesh, Rupankar has recorded only a few tracks specifically for the country—making this release all the more special.
The emotionally resonant song is penned by lyricist Mahmud Manjur and brought to life through the composition and music arrangement of Joy Shahriar.
Speaking about the project, Mahmud Manjur shared, “There’s nothing left to prove about Rupankar’s voice—it’s iconic. He’s an artist who is truly vital to Bengali music. This song was created some time ago, but we waited for the right moment to release it. I believe listeners will feel its emotional depth—that’s the true success of a song.”
Rupankar, equally enthusiastic, said, “It’s always a pleasure to sing for Bangladesh. I’ve done it before and loved it every time. The lyrics, melody, and arrangement of this track touched me deeply. I hope audiences from both India and Bangladesh will connect with it.”
Composer Joy Shahriar added, “The song weaves together emotions of longing and disappearance—it’s a blend of past and present. Working with Rupankar, one of my all-time favorite singers, and Mahmud Manjur, a lyricist I greatly admire, was a rewarding experience. We hope the audience embraces this creation with warmth.”
It’s also notable that Mahmud Manjur has previously collaborated with several prominent Indian singers, including Silajit, Palak Muchhal, and Shubhomita.
