The dramas are: “Daroga Bou Swami Asami,” “Petuk Jamai-2,” and a 7-episode special serial, “Vejal Kader.” “Daroga Bou Swami Asami” and “Vejal Kader” are directed by the skilled director Naznin Hasan Khan, while “Petuk Jamai-2” is directed by Harun Rusho.
Among the cast of “Petuk Jamai-2” are A.K.M. Hasan, Rezmin Setu, Reshma Ahmed, Shariful Islam, Sirajul Islam, Farid Hossain, Ahmed Saju, Jahangir Alam, and others.
Rajib Moni Das mentioned that the immense popularity of “Petuk Jamai-1”, which garnered 26 million views, inspired him to create the sequel. Many viewers had requested for Petuk Jamai-2 through comments, which led to its creation. He added that when the audience enjoys a drama and accepts it smoothly, it motivates the writers and directors to create new stories. He hopes the sequel will also be well-received by the viewers.
The story of “Petuk Jamai-2” revolves around a man who earns money not just to save, but to enjoy it. However, he indulges in excessive eating—gorging on khashi, fish, chicken, fruits, and more. His wife becomes exhausted from cooking constantly. He doesn’t stop at home; when attending weddings, friends’ houses, or his in-laws’ place, he continues overeating. Eventually, the villagers stop inviting him. This excessive eating turns problematic for him, leading to indigestion and illness. He eventually seeks medical advice. Following the doctor’s guidance, he realizes that earning money is not just about spending it carelessly. To stay healthy, one must eat in moderation. The audience will see this story unfold through the character of this overindulgent young man.
The drama is set to air on a private channel during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr special programming.
