
To celebrate World Music Day 2026, Artist Club Limited hosted a mesmerizing cultural evening at its Club Lounge in Banani, Dhaka. As part of the special edition of its signature cultural program, “Shondhya Prodeep,” one of Bangladesh’s most prestigious cultural organizations, the Dhaka University Cultural Foundation (DUCF), delivered a remarkable musical performance. The event was attended by diplomats, distinguished cultural personalities, artists, media professionals, and a large gathering of music enthusiasts.
The Chief Guest of the evening was H. E. Mr. Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, Ambassador of France to Bangladesh. In his address, he highlighted the significance of World Music Day, stating, “Music is a universal language that transcends culture, nationality, and geographical boundaries, bringing people together. Initiatives like this are immensely important in strengthening the cultural ties between Bangladesh and France.”
In his welcome address, Mr. Sujit Mustafa, President of Artist Club Limited, said, “Artist Club has always remained committed to promoting arts and culture through creative initiatives. We are delighted to welcome a distinguished organization like DUCF on the occasion of World Music Day. We look forward to continuing such international-standard cultural events in the future.” Remarks were also delivered by Mr. Maruf Kabir, Secretary General of Artist Club Limited, and Professor Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, Founder of DUCF and Executive Member of Artist Club Limited.
Throughout the evening, the artists of DUCF presented a vibrant and interactive “Musical Mehfil,” creating a unique bond with the audience. Through an exquisite blend of chorus and solo performances, they performed modern Bangla songs, folk music, patriotic songs, and other popular musical pieces. The artists’ outstanding performances, coupled with enthusiastic audience participation and a lively cultural atmosphere, elevated the entire evening into a truly memorable experience. Every performance was met with thunderous applause from the audience.
The cultural program commenced with a unique traditional Puthi recital, introducing the audience to DUCF. The musical performances opened with a powerful chorus rendition of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s “Mora Jhonjhar Moto Uddam.” Popular modern songs were then performed by Nirjhar Chowdhury, Irabati Mondal, Anika Sharmila Kripa, and Farhad Milton. Acclaimed vocalist Nandini Deo Dhara presented Nazrul Sangeet, while Mahfuzar Rahman Mohabbat performed traditional folk songs, including compositions by Ukil Munshi. Naima Islam Naz delighted the audience with Rabindra Sangeet, and the evening concluded with a moving chorus rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s “Aguner Poroshmoni Chhoao Prane.” Artist Club President Sujit Mustafa concluded the event by expressing his sincere appreciation to DUCF for their outstanding performance.
