The second edition of the Google Product Expert Workshop was held in Dhaka, bringing together aspiring technology enthusiasts interested in joining Google’s global volunteer support community. The workshop took place on Friday (July 10) at United International University (UIU).
According to the organizers, 32 selected participants attended the workshop, where they received comprehensive guidance on the eligibility criteria, application process, community engagement, and responsibilities of the Google Product Expert (PE) Program. The sessions also highlighted how Product Experts assist users by providing technical support across various Google services.
Millions of users worldwide encounter technical issues while using Google products. To address these challenges, Google operates official Help Communities where volunteers from different countries provide peer-to-peer assistance. Experienced contributors who demonstrate exceptional knowledge and community engagement are recognized as Google Product Experts.
Currently, more than 2,000 Google Product Experts provide support across over 200 Google products in more than 18 languages. They help users resolve a wide range of issues, including Google Account recovery, restoring lost photos in Google Photos, recovering suspended YouTube channels, and troubleshooting problems related to Google Drive and Google Payments.
Bangladesh officially launched its initiative to recruit new volunteers through dedicated Product Expert workshops in 2025. The workshop was conducted by Mahabub Hasan, Bangladesh’s Google Product Expert Ambassador. He became the country’s first Google Product Expert Ambassador in 2025 and was reappointed to the role in 2026.
Mahabub Hasan has been an active member of the Google Product Expert community since 2016. He currently serves as a Product Expert for several Google services, including YouTube (South Asia), Google Drive, Google Photos, and Google Account.
Speaking at the workshop, Mahabub Hasan said, “Initiatives like this will enable more technology enthusiasts from Bangladesh to become part of the international volunteer community. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to play a meaningful role in providing technical support to Google users around the world.”
