On 23 February 2025, Dhaka witnessed the launch of the Foundation for Strategic and Development Studies (FSDS), a research-based institution focused on governance, national security, and policy development.
FSDS Chairman, Major General (retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar, emphasized its mission to conduct evidence-based research, ensuring strategic stability and national growth. Most importantly, he stressed that FSDS will always prioritize Bangladesh First.
Distinguished speakers, including Professor Mahbubullah, Professor Dilara Chowdhury, Professor Bohan Uddin Khan, and Jahangirnagar University VC Professor Kamrul Ahsan, highlighted the importance of strategic research in shaping national policies. The event was attended by top military officials, former army chiefs, political leaders, and media representatives.
FSDS marks a crucial step toward strengthening Bangladesh’s governance, security, and development. As researchers, we welcome this initiative and hope it contributes to economic growth, sustainable progress, and global competitiveness—always keeping Bangladesh first.
