22nd Founding Anniversary of Daffodil International University was observed with day long gala events with great enthusiasm and in a colorful manner & festive mood at university campus at Birulia, Savar, Dhaka. To mark the Founding Anniversary day long programs included Colorful Rally, Cake Cutting, Discussion, Forming Human Logo, Games & Sports, Fun Events and dance performance by the university students based on the theme song of the university. On the occasion of the event, the campus of the university was decorated in vernal decorations. Ignoring the heavy fog of winter, 22,000 students, teachers and officials dressed up in colorful costumes and gathered at the university campus at 9 am.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest at the program. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the program. Conducted by Professor Dr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, the program was attended by Prof. Dr. SM MahbubulHaqueMajumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Mr. HamidulHaque Khan, Treasurer, Dr. Md. Emran Hossain, Member, Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business & Entrepreneurship, Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Registrar of the university. All the teachers, students and officials of the university joined the program.
While addressing as the chief guest Dr. Md. Sabur Khan expressed his satisfaction with the continuous development of the university and expressed his high hopes that when the university will celebrate its centenary, Daffodil International University will be then among the top 100 universities in the world.
Daffodil International University has already done well in research. We should not be satisfied with this research performance. We want research that can change the country through research, we want research that can change your destiny, make you economically prosperous. We do not want research that is confined to the pages of a newspaper, or the pages of a book, or a publication. We want to see the Wright studies, he added.
He once again declared the university completely free from ragging and said that we do not want those students who by dropping logs from university year after year will misguide other students of the university. We want to keep Daffodil International University in such a position where our parents have placed trust and faith on the university. We want keep uphold the trust and faith of the parents and guardians.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, with the combined efforts of all, we will prove that Bangladesh will stand high in the world by presenting a wonderful family and a wonderful university. Inshallah there will be no unemployment in our country.
Daffodil International University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman said, students of Daffodil International University will not look for jobs, they will give jobs. This university is working towards that goal. Highlighting the history of contemporary ranking success including Times Higher Education, QS Ranking, UI Green Matric Ranking, he said, Daffodil International University will be the largest higher education institution in Bangladesh within the next five years.
