BRAC Bank Cricket Team has emerged as the Champion in the Corporate Amateur Cricket Association (CACA) T-40 Tournament.
BRAC Bank also clinched the trophy in 2021 in T40 format, and in 2022 T20 format, involving the teams from corporate Bangladesh.
In the final against Sena Kalyan Sangstha (SKS) on December 28, 2024, at the Police Staff College playground in Mirpur, batting first, BRAC Bank scored 301 in the stipulated 40 overs. Opener Eashan Banik scored 94 off 85 balls and Shahriar Islam Sumon scored 73 runs off 49 balls. In the slog overs, Tahidul Islam Sumon’s 23-ball 41 runs and Amit Ghosh’s 9-ball 23 runs took the score over 300 marks.
In reply, SKS was bundled out for 159 runs, providing a 142-run victory for BRAC Bank. Sheikh Abu Sayed of the winning side bagged 4 wickets, including a hattrick, conceding 32 runs in his 8 overs. BRAC Bank’s Eashan Banik was declared the Man of the Match for his scintillating innings and a wicket.
Major General Md Habib Ullah, chairman of Sena Kalyan Sangstha, handed over the trophy to the BRAC Bank team. Saiful Islam, director of BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage, and Major Imroze Ahmed (Retd.), president of the CACA, were present at the prize-giving ceremony.
