BRAC Bank and Software Shop Limited (SSL Wireless) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand access to formal banking and financing for micro and small entrepreneurs operating in the growing e-commerce and f-commerce ecosystem in Bangladesh.
Signed at BRAC Bank’s Head Office in Dhaka on August 30, 2026, the MoU brings together BRAC Bank’s strength in SME and inclusive finance with SSL Wireless’ established digital commerce ecosystem. The partnership aims to connect digital entrepreneurs with relevant financial services to support their businesses and growth.
The collaboration will create opportunities for merchants, partners and sellers within SSL Wireless’ ecosystem to access BRAC Bank’s banking and financing solutions, subject to the Bank’s applicable assessment and eligibility criteria. SSL Wireless will facilitate the financing assessment process. At the same time, BRAC Bank’s SME customers will be able to connect with SSL Wireless’ platform and tap into the opportunities offered by the digital commerce ecosystem.
Supporting underserved entrepreneurs is central to BRAC Bank’s SME banking. Since its inception, the Bank has focused on bringing entrepreneurs into the formal financial system through accessible and relevant SME banking solutions. The partnership with SSL Wireless further strengthens this commitment by bringing financial services closer to entrepreneurs through the digital ecosystems where they operate.
Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank, said, “Digital commerce is creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs across Bangladesh. Through our partnership with SSL Wireless, we aim to bring banking closer to entrepreneurs where they are already doing business and create a more inclusive pathway from digital commerce to formal finance and sustainable growth.”
Mohiuddin Tawfik, General Manager & Head, Banking and Financial Services Institution, SSL Wireless, said, “This partnership with BRAC Bank will help connect offline, e-commerce and f-commerce merchants with formal financing, creating practical opportunities for small business growth and greater financial inclusion.”
While the collaboration will initially focus on opportunities within SSL Wireless’ digital merchant ecosystem, it will also establish a platform for both organisations to explore and develop broader areas of cooperation as the partnership progresses.
