The popular series “Borno Golpo 6” by Gufi was unveiled at the book fair. On Saturday afternoon, five new storybooks from the “Borno Golpo 6” series were unveiled at the children’s section of the Ekushey Book Fair. The authors and illustrators of the stories attended the event.

The series includes: “Tinti Jadur Momobati” by Tahmina Rahman,”Tiar Notun Bondhu” by Naushin Afsana

“Thaki Mora Mile Mishe,” “Dhonnho Amar Krishok Baba,” and “Skule Elo Durdosha” by Waliullah Bhuiyan

Zakia Shimmin Chowdhury, Tasnima Islam, and Sahmi Zaman illustrated the books. Each story focuses on educational themes for children, highlighting Bengali letters from “ত” to “ন”. The stories incorporate various words to expand children’s vocabulary, with difficult words explained at the end of each story.

The main theme of this series is to teach children about the different classes and professions in our society, emphasizing that everyone has unique talents and contributes to society in some way. For example, “Dhonnho Amar Krishok Baba” teaches children about the important role of farmers, while “Tiar Notun Bondhu” introduces a child with autism as Tia’s friend, helping to dispel any misconceptions about autism and encouraging acceptance.

The illustrations in “Borno Golpo 6” are vibrant and innovative, making each page feel like a scene from an animated movie. This approach aims to foster empathy in children from a young age, teaching them to respect people of different professions and appearances, and helping them develop strong character traits.

Waliullah Bhuiyan stated, “In 2021, we started creating stories in Bengali under the series ‘Borno Golpo.’ Each of the nine volumes focuses on a Bengali letter, with a central theme in each series emphasizing morality, self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and good behavior in children.” So far, “Borno Golpo” has been published up to volume 6.
