The stage was set, lights glimmering, and applause echoing through the auditorium of Dhaka’s Krishibid Institute (KIB), as the Artist Journalist Foundation of Bangladesh (AJFB) celebrated its 18th anniversary in style. The grand evening of AJFB Star Awards 2025 brought together stars from across the entertainment world — and among the brightest of them stood playwright Arpona Rani Rajbongshi, who took home the Best Playwright Award of the year.
Organized by AJFB, the ceremony was held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, honoring artists who’ve left a powerful mark across film, television, and music. It was a night filled with recognition, emotion, and heartfelt moments.
Arpona, known for her thoughtful storytelling and emotionally resonant scripts, received her award from legendary actor Ali Raj, who attended the event as a special guest alongside Tashik Ahmed, Head of Programming at ATN Bangla.
Taking the stage with grace and humility, Arpona shared,“This award isn’t mine alone. It belongs to the audience who have believed in my stories, felt them, loved them. If I’m standing here today, it’s because they kept watching and appreciating. I’m grateful to AJFB and forever thankful to my viewers — my greatest inspiration.”
The evening also honored many celebrated names. Ali Raj was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his iconic contribution to Bangladeshi cinema and television. Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Chairman of ATN Bangla and ATN News, received a Special Recognition Award for his support of the creative arts.
Among other awardees were popular faces like Nirob, DA Tayeb, Rashed Mamun Apu, Puja Cherry, Abdun Noor Sajal, Samira Khan Mahi, Ethun Babu, Asif Akbar, Ankhi Alamgir, Shiva Sanu, Belal Khan, and Gazi Rakayet.
The event was more than just a celebration of fame — it was a tribute to passion, perseverance, and the power of storytelling. And in that spirit, Arpona Rani Rajbongshi’s award was a heartfelt reminder that stories still matter — especially the ones that connect us all.
