After making waves with their debut film, director Walid Ahmed and producer Dr. Afroza Momen are gearing up for their second cinematic project. On the evening of February 18, the duo officially signed an agreement at a ceremony in the capital, marking the beginning of their next film. The project will be produced under Dr. Afroza Momen’s banner, RNNS Productions, with direction by Walid Ahmed, the head of Shadamata Entertainment.
Their previous collaboration, Megher Kopat, released in 2023, achieved remarkable success on the international stage. The film was screened at various festivals across India, the USA, and other countries, earning accolades such as Best Foreign Film, Best Director, and the Raj Kapoor Award at the Global Independent Film Festival in India. It was also nominated for the Bangladesh Panorama section at the 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival and received recognition at the Suchitra Sen Film Festival in New York.
Speaking about the new venture, writer and producer Dr. Afroza Momen shared her excitement: “Our first film received immense love and global recognition. That success has motivated me to bring another meaningful story to the screen. Walid Ahmed is a skilled filmmaker who brings depth and structure to storytelling. My stories always carry a social message, and I hope this film will once again connect with audiences on a deeper level.”
Director Walid Ahmed also expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating: “Dr. Afroza Momen is a remarkable individual—beyond being a doctor, she is a writer, producer, singer, and educator.
