BRAC Bank recently hosted a health awareness session on heart attack prevention and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in collaboration with Unico Hospitals.

The session was held on April 9, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office, where over 100 coworkers participated.

It focused on the symptoms and causes of heart attacks and included a practical demonstration on life-saving CPR techniques.

Prof. Dr. Moeen Uddin Ahmed, Senior Consultant in clinical and Interventional Cardiology at Unico Hospitals, conducted the session. He was joined by Ardra Kurien, CEO of Unico Hospitals, and Bhabe Suseela, Nurse Manager at Asgar Ali Hospital in Delhi. The experts provided clinical insights and hands-on guidance during the training.

The programme’s objective was to raise coworkers’ awareness of cardiac health, equip them with practical knowledge to identify early warning signs of heart-related complications, and provide immediate response through CPR when required.

BRAC Bank regularly undertakes such initiatives as part of its broader wellbeing agenda for coworkers, recognising that physical and mental wellness is essential for a safe, productive, and inclusive workplace.

“As a values-based organisation, BRAC Bank prioritises health and safety across all levels. Through awareness and training, we aim to foster a culture of care where coworkers are empowered to safeguard one another,” said Akhteruddin Mahmood, Head of Human Resources at BRAC Bank.
