Mr. Zahidul Haque joined National Bank PLC as Deputy Managing Director on July 2, 2026. Before joining National Bank, Mr. Haque served as Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Information and Technology Officer (CITO) at Eastern Bank PLC, where he spent 15 years building and scaling one of the most capable technology organizations in Bangladesh’s banking sector.
What distinguishes Mr. Haque is the breadth of his banking experience beyond technology. At EBL, he held progressive leadership roles including Head of Alternative Distribution Channels, Head of Digital Banking & Payments, and Head of Liability and Wealth Management, giving him a holistic command of retail banking business, customer strategy, and revenue generation.
Mr. Haque joins National Bank with over 26 years of distinguished experience spanning Information and Communication Technology and Banking—a rare combination that positions him uniquely to lead at the intersection of financial performance and digital innovation.
Mr. Haque holds an MBA in Financial Management and a BBA in Marketing Management from IUBAT — International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka. He is an active participant in international conferences, workshops, and training programs on emerging technologies and global banking innovation.
