
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bangladesh, His Excellency Mr. Yousef S. Y. Ramadan, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Minister for Cultural Affairs, Mr. Nitai Roy Chowdhury, MP, at the latter’s ministry office today, Monday, at 11:30 a.m.
During the call, the Ambassador personally conveyed an official joint invitation to the Hon’ble Minister to attend a cultural conference in Madrid, Spain. The invitation was extended jointly by H.E. Mr. Ernest Urtasun Domènech, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Spain, and H.E. Mr. Emad A. Hamdan, Minister of Culture of the State of Palestine.
Hon’ble Minister Mr. Nitai Roy Chowdhury warmly received the invitation and highly appreciated the significant initiative, noting that culture serves as a vital bridge between peoples, promoting mutual understanding, peace, and dialogue. He stated that the invitation would receive due consideration in consultation with relevant authorities, subject to the approval of the Government and his official schedule.
The meeting highlighted the longstanding, historic, and brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Palestine. The Cultural Affairs Minister reaffirmed Bangladesh’s steadfast and principled support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.
Both sides expressed keen interest in enhancing cultural cooperation through the exchange of artists and cultural troupes, exhibitions, heritage preservation, and structured cultural dialogues, aiming to explore future opportunities for deeper collaboration between the cultural institutions of the two nations.
In conclusion, the Hon’ble Minister thanked the Palestinian Ambassador for his visit and wished him continued success in his diplomatic mission in Bangladesh. The Ambassador also conveyed his warmest greetings to the Government and the brotherly people of Bangladesh.
