Counterpoint Research: Samsung leads Global Smartphone Shipments in H1 2026
Samsung captured the highest share of global smartphone shipments in the first half (H1) of 2026. The manufacturer captured a 21.8% global market share during the period, according to recent data published by Counterpoint Research.
According to the report, Apple ranked second globally with a 20.9% market share in H1 2026. Xiaomi ranked third with 11.4%, followed by OPPO at 10.3% and vivo at 7.6%.
It also notes that the global smartphone market experienced a 7% year-over-year (YoY) contraction in Q2 2026, impacted by rising component costs and macroeconomic pressures. Within this environment, Samsung achieved a notable 9% year-over-year (YoY) growth in shipments. The result was attributed to "supported by favorable pricing and competitive dynamics."
