National Film Award-winning singer Somnur Monir Konal continues to make her mark across all genres of music—not just in films but also in the broader music industry. To reduce tobacco-related deaths and usage, and to build a healthy, tobacco-free nation, 17 anti-tobacco organizations and students of the University of Dhaka organized a rally and a symbolic coffin procession demanding a timely and stronger tobacco control law. The event was held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the TSC area of the University of Dhaka. Following the rally, the coffin procession made its way through the university premises. Speakers at the rally stated that 35.3% of the population aged 15 and above in Bangladesh use tobacco.
