ATJFB to Host the Inaugural “Beautiful Bangladesh Run” at Hatirjheel on Friday

Bangladesh is set to host its first-ever tourism-promoting marathon, the Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2025, at Hatirjheel in the capital on April 25. The Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) will organise the ground-breaking run with Rhythm Group as title sponsor and support from the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB). The Beautiful Bangladesh Run will kick off at 6 AM from Police Plaza at Hatirjheel, featuring a competitive 7.5-kilometer run and a family-friendly 2-kilometer fun run. The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has redesigned and improved the Mohammadpur bus stand intersection, a known traffic hotspot in Dhaka. According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) record, 123 road crash fatalities were recorded in 2023 in DNCC area with Mohammadpur police station having 4th highest crash fatalities and 55.5% of the fatalities under the police station were near Mohammadpur bus stop. Now, these redesigned intersection features have improved pedestrian crossings, clearer signage, and traffic-calming measures aimed at reducing crashes and saving lives.
