Noise polluters must be collectively resisted– Environment Secretary
Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, stated that excessive noise poses serious risks to public health and the environment. She emphasized the need for awareness and collective efforts to control noise pollution. All silent zones, including hospitals and residential areas, must be kept noise-free.
On 20 February 2025 afternoon, the Environment Secretary inaugurated the 'Horn Usage Discouragement' campaign in front of Osmani Udyan, opposite Gate No. 1 of the Bangladesh Secretariat. The campaign aims to raise public awareness at seven key points in the capital.
