Helen LaFave, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, Discusses Development and Cooperation in CHT with Adviser Supradip Chakma
Helen LaFave, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires, and her accompanying delegation paid a courtesy call on the CHT Affairs Adviser, Supradip Chakma, at his office today. The delegation included the Political Counselor, Director of USAID, HR Officer, and other officials.
The U.S. team expressed their appreciation for the meeting. During their discussion, they highlighted the existing relationship between Bangladesh and the USA, focusing on their cooperation in the CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts) for livelihood development and environmental initiatives. They also discussed future cooperation in the CHT, recent communal violence that took place from 18-20 September 2024, the human rights situation, and other related issues.
