Global smartphone shipments increased 1.5% in 2025, Samsung tops the list
Samsung has secured top spot among the smartphone manufacturers, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. It is mentionable that IDC Tracker products provide accurate information about market size, vendor share, and forecasts for hundreds of technology markets from more than 100 countries around the globe.
There have been a number of issues posing a challenge to the global smartphone market. Despite the challenges, smartphone manufacturers have logged strong performance. As a result, global smartphone shipments increased 1.5% year-over-year (YoY) to 304.9 million units in the first quarter of 2025.
