BRAC Bank facilitates 5,000 kidney dialysis at Kidney Foundation Hospital Sylhet in 2024
BRAC Bank facilitated over 5,000 free kidney dialysis sessions in 2024 for patients from underserved communities at Kidney Foundation Hospital Sylhet (KFS).
Through its flagship CSR health initiative Aporajeyo Ami, the bank is making lifesaving dialysis accessible to those who cannot afford it — a vision inspired by Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, founder of BRAC and BRAC Bank. In his honour, KFS has dedicated an entire floor as the Sir Fazle Hasan Abed Kidney Dialysis Centre, supported annually by BRAC Bank.
Currently, 120 patients receive treatment with the bank’s support, with most of their sessions provided free of charge. As dialysis is a continuous process, free sessions are allocated based on financial capability, ensuring the most vulnerable benefit most.
