ADB to assist Bangladesh in low-cost river cleaning projects and climate action plans- Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor on Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, announced that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will assist Bangladesh in implementing low-cost river cleaning projects for the important rivers namely Buriganga, Turag, and Balu rivers. The ADB's support will also extend to the execution of Bangladesh's action-oriented climate plans, including the National Adaptation Plan (NAP).
During a meeting with Edimon Ginting, ADB's Country Director, held Tuesday at the Bangladesh Secretariat, Rizwana Hasan emphasized the importance of involving the private sector and youth in environmental protection efforts. She also highlighted the need for capacity building and requested ADB's assistance in establishing a training institute for Department of Environment (DoE) officials.
