Space Innovation Camp Hosts Rocket Adventure Day 2025

Spread the love

When rockets built by children soared into the sky, the field was filled with cheers and wonder. With the goal of providing a thrilling entry point into the world of space science, Space Innovation Camp successfully organized the much-anticipated Rocket Adventure Day 2025.

Held at the International Conference Hall of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the event welcomed students from over 100 schools across the country. Participants, divided into age-based teams, joined hands-on model rocket-making workshops, immersing themselves in science through fun and experimentation.

The core objective of the event was to inspire a deep love for science among children, spark interest in space and technology through hands-on learning, and encourage creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking by building and launching rockets. This initiative provided children with a rare opportunity to experience international-standard STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) right here in Bangladesh.

Participants built and launched six different types of model rockets, including Saturn V, Space Shuttle, Delta-2, Starship, Artemis II, and Falcon 9. They learned key concepts such as how water pressure can power rockets, how real rockets use fins and parachutes for stability and recovery, and how Newton’s Third Law, thrust, gravity, and aerodynamics interact during a launch. Children also engaged in simple mathematical calculations to understand velocity, angle, and launch force—giving them a real-world understanding of space physics.

Each team was guided by a dedicated Mission Controller and Space Crew member, who provided continuous mentorship throughout the workshops. The program was fully interactive and experience-based. The day concluded with a graduation ceremony, where every participant received a certificate and a medal in recognition of their achievements.

The chief guest of the event was Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed, Treasurer of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). In his address, he said, “Today’s event is not just a rocket workshop—it marks the beginning of a journey of innovation and futuristic thinking among children. If our children get hands-on exposure to science from an early age, they will not only contribute to the future of our nation but also make Bangladesh proud on a global stage. BUBT will continue to support such educational and visionary initiatives.”

Regarding the initiative, Mr. Ariful Hasan Opu, President of Space Innovation Camp, shared, “Our primary goal is to equip children with real-life learning in science and space through hands-on activities. Rocket Adventure Day plays a vital role in enhancing their imagination, problem-solving abilities, and creative thinking. Teaching science through playful exploration is the most effective method. We want every child to be prepared for a future built on technology and scientific innovation. With initiatives like these, we are laying the foundation for that future.”

Also present at the event were Dr. MunshiMahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences at BUBT, and Md. Saifur Rahman, Assistant Professor and Chairman of the CSE Department at BUBT.

The event was made possible with the generous support of BUBT as Venue Partner, Whistle as Partner, Enigma Multimedia Ltd. as Storytelling Partner, and eSoft as the Technology Partner.
