ShimantoBank PLC. has conducted the 9thAnnual General Meeting (AGM) on 15thJuly, 2025at ShahidCaptain Ashraf Hall at HQ BGB, Peelkhana. The Meeting was presided over by the Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh and Chairman of the Bank Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, OSP, BSP, SUP, BGBM,ndc, psc, MPhil. Stock Dividendof 5% was approved in the AGM for shareholders. Director’s Report, Auditor’s Report were also approved. Directors were elected and Auditor was appointed in this General Meeting.
Maj Gen Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Chairmanof the Bank in his welcome speechpresented key financial indicators of the Bank to the stakeholders attended in the AGM. He has emphasized to strengthen further the financial fundamentals of the Bank.He has expressed his expectation that the bank will contribute more for macroeconomic development of the country. He instructed to take preparedness to overcome the future challenges and competition of the banking industry by ensuring trust and confidence of the customers through service excellence.
Mr. Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director & CEO of the Bank told that shareholder’s equity of the Bank has been increased to BDT 577 crore today starting with the capital of BDT 400 crore. He has reported that the Bank has achieved remarkable growthin 2024. He has assured the stakeholders that the bank will remain determined to achieve its goals. He has expressed gratitude to Board of Directors, shareholders, customers, Border Guard Bangladesh and all regulators including Bangladesh Bank for their confidence and supports.
The Shareholders, Directors, Senior Officers of BGB and Bank and other stakeholder of the Bank were present in the AGM. The Meeting was moderated by Hossain Suman FCS, Company Secretary of the Bank.
