Recently, the special telefilm Praner Swami, written and directed by Rajib Moni Das, has been produced. The cast includes Akhomo Hasan, Rezmin Setu, Shafik Khan Dilu, Sayeka Ahmed, Tariq Swapan, Tabassum Mithila, and others. The telefilm will air on Channel i on Friday, 8 November, at 3 p.m.

The story of Praner Swami follows Alia, an obsessively devoted wife who constantly worries about her husband. Such a devoted wife is hard to find in this world. Even the slightest issue sends Alia into a frenzy. She is hyper-aware and protective of her husband, so much so that she doesn’t even let him speak to her friends.

One day, Alia visits her father’s house with her husband. If anything goes wrong with the menu, Alia angrily lashes out at her parents and wants to pack up and return to her husband’s home. Samir, her husband, understands that his wife deeply loves him, but her extreme actions, like staying up to chat at bedtime or insisting he drinks milk as soon as he wakes up, can feel overwhelming. Samir, worn out by her excessive attention, eventually falls ill.

When Alia’s mother, Asma Begum, suggests seeing a mental doctor, her father becomes enraged, fearing that if her husband finds out, things could go very wrong.

The director says, “Primarily, I’m a playwright. Writing stories, novels, and dramas is my main work. However, once in a while, if a good story comes along, I indulge in directing out of passion. The story of Praner Swami left a deep mark on my heart, and I couldn’t resist bringing it to life. In today’s context, it portrays the extent of a wife’s concern for her husband, especially if he were to disappear from her life. Praner Swami tells the story of a hyper-aware, slightly psychopathic wife.”
