Celebrated Bangladeshi vocalist Dilruba Kamal is set to mesmerize listeners once again with her upcoming album, a heartfelt tribute to the timeless works of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Titled “Pordeshi Megh,” the album features three soul-stirring Nazrul Sangeet renditions:
“Pordeshi Megh,” “Keu Bhole Na,” and “Rimijhim.”
The songs have been reimagined with elegant, contemporary arrangements by acclaimed music director Sajib Das, blending tradition with a modern aesthetic.
Scheduled for release on August 1st, the full album will premiere on SHADAMATA Entertainment’s official YouTube channel and will also be available across leading global music platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, and YouTube Music.
Dilruba Kamal previously gained widespread appreciation for her vocals in the albums Bokulchanpa and Jitte Chaini, released under Laser Vision. Her silver screen debut as a playback singer came with the poignant duet “Khola Freme” alongside internationally renowned Indian artist Rupankar Bagchi, featured in Walid Ahmed’s acclaimed film “Megher Kopat.”
A recipient of multiple national accolades, Dilruba’s musical foundation was laid early under the tutelage of her father, Ustad Kamal Uddin. From childhood, her life has been deeply intertwined with music. Today, she is an enlisted artist with Bangladesh Television, performing regularly on national TV and radio.
Known for her effortless command over Nazrul Sangeet, modern, and folk genres, Dilruba Kamal continues to captivate audiences with her emotional depth, technical finesse, and unwavering devotion to the art of music.
