The 42nd Annual General Meetings of National Bank PLC was held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at a convention center in Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Abdul Awal Mintoo, Chairman & Sponsor Director of the Bank. Also present were Mr. Moazzam Hossain, Vice Chairman & Sponsor Director; Mr. Muklesur Rahman, Chairman of the Executive Committee & Independent Director; Mr. Md. Abdus Satter Sarkar, Chairman of the Audit Committee & Independent Director; Mr. Md. Zulkar Nayn, Independent Director; Professor Dr. Melita Mehjabeen, Independent Director; Mr. Adil Chowdhury, Managing Director; Deputy Managing Directors and the esteemed shareholders of the bank.
National Bank’s Chairman & Sponsor Director Mr. Abdul Awal Mintoo said in his speech that although many incidents had happened in the past at National Bank, no irregularities or corruption will be tolerated in the future. All members of the Board of Directors and the Management Team are making their utmost efforts to restore the Bank’s reputation and position. He also assured all shareholders that the overall situation and the major financial indicators of the bank will improve significantly compared to the present in the coming year.
Mr. Adil Chowdhury, Managing Director of National Bank, said that all employees are working with their utmost dedication to improve the present situation. He further stated that all initiatives are solely aimed at protecting the interests of the bank’s shareholders, employees, and depositors, and restoring their trust. He expressed his belief that through collective efforts, National Bank will be able to regain its former glory.
The scheduled agenda items, including the financial statements for the year ending 2024 and the appointment of auditors, were also approved at the meeting conducted by Mr. Md. Kaiser Rashid, Company Secretary & Senior Vice President of National Bank.
