
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between United International University (UIU) and PNZ Innovation at the UIU campus yesterday, marking a new chapter in academic and research collaboration.
The agreement aims to foster joint research initiatives, enhance innovation, and promote the publication of high-quality research papers in reputed international journals. It also establishes a framework for cooperation between the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) of UIU and PNZ Innovation in various fields of science and technology.
Event Highlights
Mohammad Ullah, Founder Director of PNZ Innovation, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The event was presided over by Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice Chancellor of United International University.
Also present were Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Executive Director of IAR and Former Vice Chancellor of UIU; Prof. Mahmodol Hasan, Founding Member and Chief Scientist, PNZ Innovation; and Shafiul Alam, Program Manager and Head of Innovation, IoT Devices and Automation, PNZ Innovation.
The MoU was signed by Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Executive Director of IAR, and Mohammad Ullah, Founder Director of PNZ Innovation, on behalf of their respective institutions.
Deans of various faculties, department heads, directors, faculty members, and senior officials from both organizations were also present at the signing ceremony.
Scope of Collaboration
Under this partnership, both institutions will work jointly on research projects, resource sharing, collaborative grant applications, and the development of innovative technological solutions in areas including agriculture, data science, and machine learning.
This collaboration seeks to combine academic expertise and industry experience, creating impactful research that addresses real-world challenges through innovation and advanced technology.
IAR’s Research Contribution
Since 2019, the Institute for Advanced Research (IAR) at UIU has invested over 80 million taka in funding research projects, supported by the United Group. IAR has been instrumental in providing R&D funds to promote high-quality academic research.
Currently, IAR supports more than 120 ongoing research projects, awarding grants twice a year. The institute also maintains active collaborations with several national and international organizations to strengthen Bangladesh’s academic and innovation ecosystem.
