Morshed Khan- The Renowned Bass Guitarist

Morshed Khan is a renowned bass guitarist as well as a freelance music director, composer, and music arranger. His musical journey started in 1987 with the Band Root Finder, and after a year, it was renamed as Orpheus. At one fell swoop, he joined the band Crystal Ship, who has played some cover numbers, and participated with many other bands, like Phantom Lord, a rock metal band and Winning, a very popular band till 1999.

During his very long journey, he has worked with the country’s legendary solo artists’ country notably, Feroze Sai, Azam Khan, Lucky Akhand, Shubir Nondi, Abdul Hadi, Khurshid Alom, Abida Sultana, Rafiqul Alam, Apel Mahmood, and Ferdous Wahid at their live performances as well as studio recordings. It is also notable that he has worked with fabulous band musicians Ayub Bacchu, Mehreen, and Shubo for countless years as part of their action planning activities.

In 2001, he joined the band Pentagon and was praised for their outstanding performance at the celebration of the United States Independence Day in Bangladesh on 3rd July in 2019 and also played with the Jazz band Jazzy Chopsticks, which gig’s at German Embassy’s rooftop party, German club, German Goethe’ Institute, European Convention Center, Swedish Embassy’s Party, International Club, Turkish Embassy Trade Fair at BCFCC, Dutch Club, German club. In 2012, he played with the most popular band of the town, ARK & Renaissance, and continued till 2017. Now, he is playing with the most renowned band in this country, Miles and Pentagon. He has been working as Live sound designer with Sound Machine Ltd since 1990.

In October 2017, he created a band named Band of Brothers BOB and the band lineup is – Foad Nasser Babu (Vocalist, Keyboardist, Songwriter, Music Director, Composer). Labu Rahman (Vocalist, Lead Guitarist, Songwriter, Composer), Aly Sumon (Vocalist, Acoustic Guitarist), Morshed Khan (Bass Guitarist, Composer), Fazlul Haque Montu (Drummer), Ashfaqul Bari Rumon (Vocalist, Lead Guitarist, Songwriter, Composer), Tanbeer Dawood Rony (Vocalist, Keyboardist) and Sujan Arif (Vocalist).

He performed in a regular program on Television channels, notably, Maasranga Unplugged on Maasranga TV and Folk BoX, on SA TV. In addition, he performed with the legendary artists of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra on the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Liberation War at National Parade Ground.

He received the RTV Star Award in 2014 and Best Bassist in Bangladesh Award from the Music Association of Mirpur in 2024.
